Our Story
How we started?
So why do we make animal-themed oven gloves? Because we love animals; especially dogs, and one dog in particular – our big, furry, friendly, goofball Akita Tom, who we adopted from a rescue centre in the UK.
Tom was in rescue for over seven months and, being a huge dog at 54KG naturally, he needed the largest kennel and ate the most food. All that meant, however, that through no fault of his own, poor Tom had become a business decision. Simply put – he was too expensive to keep, and his time was up.
His situation was not unusual – thousands of heart-breaking decisions are made every day by rescue centres with limited space and budgets. Thankfully, we were in time to give Tom the forever home he deserved, and it was his near-miss that inspired us to create Oven Paws.
Roll on the New Year
Like many people, we’ll be glad to see the back of 2020 as it has been, shall we say, memorable.
It’s good to set goals, as if you aim for nothing, you’ll hit it every time. So here are some of ours for 2021.
- Grow our ethically run business while minimising our carbon footprint.
- Maintain our reputation for quality products and customer care.
- Expand our range of animals to include rare and endangered species.
- Donate even more money to animal charities.
